I was going through all of my galleries tonight, and I realized something terrible….I never blogged Josh & Rachel’s beautiful wedding! I have no idea why, either, it was one of my favorite weddings of 2011. They got married back in June, too! Dang, get it together, Jen!
Josh and I went to high school together, and I feel like I have known him most of my life, so I was honored when I got the call from Rachel to chat about wedding photography. I was even more excited when I found out more about their wedding – a garden gnome and fairy theme. Sounds a little crazy, but they pulled it off with lots of class and personality.
They were married up on the Colorado National Monument on a super hot day, surrounded by tons of friends and family dressed up to match. I especially loved seeing Grandma in her fairy headband. The Monument made for a pretty incredible backdrop for one of the most intimate and heart-felt weddings I have been to in a long time.
The reception was at Chipeta Golf Course, and that place was packed! Josh and Rachel have an amazing group of people around them, and so many smiling faces were there to wish them the best. My favorite part of the night was getting to see Rachel and Josh sing a song with all of their siblings. As their friend this made me smile, but as a mom this touched my heart and made me cry. The entire day was so beautiful, and Brian (my second shooter and hubby) loved every minute of it.
Josh and Rachel, thank you so much for letting me do your wedding photos, and I wish you both all the best in your marriage and lives. You truly are lucky to have found each other, you are terrific together.
