Brian grew up in Buena Vista, Colorado, a teeny tiny little mountain town – and easily one of the most gorgeous places in the state. It is nestled right in the Collegiate Peaks (part of the Rocky Mountains), and is surrounded by pristine aspen and pine forests, lakes, rivers, and amazing views. They get a heck of a lot of snow in the winter, and perfect temps in the summer. And you can do just about any recreational activity there, from snowshoeing and snowmobiling to rafting, biking and fishing. It really is amazing.
Anyways, back on point, we went there for a visit a couple of weekends ago, just in time for a bunch of snow. Our kids had a great time sledding in the driveway, and these deers walked right up into the backyard, a very normal occurrence. Here are my favorite shots from the weekend!
This is actually a little abandoned mining ‘town’ outside of Minturn. There is still a mine, and it is all on the side of a very steep cliff. If it didn’t look so treacherous I would consider going exploring!
